Would you keep reading to make sure I was not lying about it?

If you are still reading, I praise your commitment and thus you will be rewarded with a short and uninformative article about terry cloth robes.

I wear robes when I finish showering. I wear them when I wake up and there is a chill in the air. I wear them when I am in my undies and want to step outside for a coffee on the patio

Soft cottony cloth robes are the perfect accessory. The better ones can be a luxury just because they are costly but I believe they are well worth it

Terry Cloth Robe Sale

So the other day I was walking in the mall and ran across a sale for terry clothe robes. The prices were awesome! The quality was great. We are talking top notch high grade cotton. These robes were fantastic!

Problem was…

These 100% cotton robes, like the ones you find at hotels, were awful to look at! Oh my god the patters and designs were horrendous. The prices now seemed alot less sweet. Granted, when you are at home, no one else is really ever going to see you in the robe apart from say a house guest.

But if these robes are meant for luxury and relaxation, one may not be able to do so if they are constantly looking at the awful pattern. I mean a loud patter is one thing but these color combinations were atrocious.

So,what do you think? Would you wear a robe if it was great quality but had a hideous color or pattern?

If your husband uses robes frequently, this would be a great purchase for him and a nice surpirse when he gets a good terry cloth robe instead of some cheap substitute

Creative writing in a bath robe!

I decided to test my creative writing skills while sitting at my desk wearing nothing other than my robe. You see, my site is about terry cloth robes and although I am not fixated on them, I do love them. I decided to take a list of terms that I use for my site’s promotion.

I can tell you the site is not about sleepwear! It is about the ultimate replacement to a bath towel. It is, wait for it, let the anticipation build…the bath robe.

It is the quintessential hotel souvenir. Many good quality hotels have found that adorning your guests with high grade after shower attire is a good call.

Robes for women come in many shapes and sizes and materials. You have the terry cloth variety, the silk, the waffle print, etc. But bathrobes for women tend to be overly skimpy. So, I opt not for the over priced, pint sized non absorbent silk robe and opt for a high grade, $80-$100 good fluffy cotton robe. The white ones

If it’s Halloween and I’m dressing up as a member of the Knights templar, I may opt for the hooded robe, otherwise I avoid them along with the silk and satin robes. I don’t understand why people would even wear those. You would have to be fully dry before you can wear them…and besides, they tend to be tiny and unflattering with your body feeling more naked than cocooned.

The French terry is pompous and has a funny accent.

The Kimono is too formal. And I’m no Geisha.

The spa robe is where its at. Those are the ones that make you feel like a million dollars. Those are the ones that you need to acquire. Those are the ones you should gift to friends and make them love you for thinking of them. They can be costly but they sure are worth it.

Don’t just settle for a toweling robe. That is like a wham bam thank you ma’am approach. Dry me off and throw me out.

Fleece robes? Ewe! Who combined those two concepts?

Long story short, this was a great exercise. I have spent a short time at my computer writing for my site in my purple terry cloth robe…yes, I have a purple one and a white one too.

All I know is that when you are working on a book or curling up to read a script you need to make a decision on, you better be doing do in a terry cloth robe and a hot steaming pot of coffee.

Terry Cloth Robes Day!

Spend a day in your robes

So, terry cloth robes are not a cure for anything other than a wet body. However, they are more powerful than that when you make a conscious decision to relax. It’s like making a conscious decision to be on time and putting a watch on.

If you are having a bad day or week, just make a conscious decision to relax. Commit to spending your Saturday or Sunday morning to recharge. One great way to do this is to commit to wearing your comfy cozy cotton robe all morning.

Wake up. Take your shower and groom. But keep that terry cloth robe on. Make yourself a nice breakfast. Nothing to fancy and avoid smelly things like pancakes or eggs. Keep it continental. Gives it more of that hotel feel. And what is more relaxing than sitting in hotel room and getting room service. Sipping on some good coffee and munching on some yummy jams on bread.

Now, if you dont have a robe, go out and get yourself a nice hotel style bath robe and set a date with yourself or your spouse. If you have kids, plan for it and send them off to play or put them to work…make them a part of this morning hotel escape.

Keep up your feet and enjoy a morning to yourself!

Terry Cloth Robes

Get wrapped in terry cloth robes!

Life is all about the simple pleasures. Yes! Like terry cloth robes! Now many people will drone on about how material things are not the be all and end all of our lives. And although that is true for the most part, you cannot deny the beautiful feeling of wrapping yourself in a soft warm cloth robe after a shower. You feel cocooned and safe. Comfy and cozy! Why wouldn’t I want to feel that? I deserve it!

Terry cloth is simply a towel-like material with long woven loops that absorb alot of water. That is the perfect material for stepping out of a shower. I would hate to think of wrapping myself with a silk robe over a wet body – YUCK! Or worse yet a fleece robe that simply won’t absorb the water.

So, what do these robes cost? They can run you anywhere from $25 to $85 or more depending on the quality. If you pick up an LL Bean robe, you are looking on the pricier side. But, you are most probably talking about Turkish cotton, soft and fluffy and very absorbent. Some may describe it as beefy.

Lands End, LL Bean and Sears have good brands of fluffy robes that will make your bath time complete!
